When we think of Pyramids, we usually have in mind the three monumental structures at Giza, Egypt. Each Pyramid is the largest structure in a group of constructions; one of the three groups includes the gigantic statue of the cat with the human face known as the Sphinx.  Each of these pyramids is the tomb of a king of ancient egypt. The largest and oldest pyramid was built by King Khufu, who is also known by the greek name "Cheops".  He ruled from 2551 - 2528 B.C. and was the son of King Sneferu and Queen Hetpeheres.
