Vermont Foliage 2000-
Current report and photos taken in Morrisville (Lamoille County), VT, fall 1999.
10/14/2000: Foliage in Lamoille County (North Central - includes, Stowe,
Morrisville, Johnson; approx 45 minutes east and a bit north of Burlington) is
just past its peak color. Some sugar maples are still turning a bright yellow, although
early coloring trees are starting to lose their leaves. The summer's generous
and consistent rainfall left the forests very healthy, and this has been an
exceptionally colorful year. An early hard freeze 2 weeks ago did
not affect the trees. The reds were abundant and brilliant.
Yellows and oranges developed nicely.
Weather today is warm and sunny; in some locations, it may even set
records for warmth on this date.
Snowfall on the mountain tops has mostly melted.
