Four canoes and four kayaks put into the Winooski River about two miles south of Waterbury at a picnic area on rte 2. The quick water at the start of the trip was easy paddling, and fun. There were a few groundings on sandbars, but these were less frequent as the trip progressed. We found a pleasant spot for lunch on a sand bar shortly below the mouth of the Little River. After lunch we soon reached the take-out point and theend of the trip. A good but short day was had by all. In the future I would start the trip a mile higher on the river to accentuate the quick water aspect of the trip.
Respectively submitted,
Fred Jordan
