Our superbly crafted toy pedal car is a pretty good copy of the 1921 Ford Model T Touring Car.   The design of the Model T underwent little change in its design from 1908-1927. [history continued below]

  The early Model T's actually did come in a variety of colors, but beginning in 1914 and for the next eleven years, the Model T would be sold in only one color: black. The main reason for this was the black enamel used dried more quickly than other paints and therefore sped up production. Consumers were not offered a choice of colors again until 1926, due in part to slumping sales.15 million were made up to 1928. The engines were manufactured until the 1940's.     Back to top of page.
