On a perfect early Spring day, with a deep blue, cloudless sky and a temperature over 50 degrees, Beth Stern, Jen Kruszewski, Ed Loewenton,  Clare Buckley, Faith King, Nancy Motyka and I hiked over the upper edges of the Bolton Valley cross-country trail system.  The warm sun reflected by the the white snow made jackets unnecessary.  In fact, as we ate lunch on a sunny patch of snow, we felt as though we were at the beach. Before and after our hike we had interesting chats with the folks from the Catamount Trail Association, who kept the area open this past season.
